This is going to be a short drama about a young man with a major addiction to nicotine. His addiction is what drives him, and therefore drives the film, but as the film progresses and his stress heightens, he pours out his views on issues that annoy him in the world today; his job, university, the bullshit 'cycle' that people seem to have to be put into, teenage pregnancy etc.
The film will start with our main character, Sam, getting up in the morning to make breakfast. Something will irritate him, something slight, such as he makes some toast and then hes got no more butter. The character is easily angered and over reacts to the situation, and then when he finds out he has no cigarettes, this sets him off. On his mission to find a cigarette, he rants about the issues that frustrate him, he will be addressing the camera for most if not all of the film. Things will happen that triggers him to rant, such as a kid may cut him up in the street and then he will go on about 'kids' these days. As he rants, there will be cutaways connecting to the issues at hand, for example him in his hated workplace.
Sam will finally acquire a cigarette, and as soon as he sparks it up he gets a phone call. Cursing he will answer the phone, and it will be his mother on the other end. She tells him that she was diagnosed with lung cancer that morning. The phone call ends, and Sam looks at the cigarette and throws it away.
